Does my comcast DVR-HD BOX have to be ON in order for it to record a scheduled show?

I was wondering if i can turn it off instead of leaving it on until morning.

  1. it must be on!


  2. It knows it needs to record, it will do it's thing.

  3. No it doesn't need to be on.

    You can leave it off and it will record your shows.  You can even turn it on and off in the middle of a recording and it will not be affected.

    You will just lose the memory of whatever you were currently watching (that WASN'T being recorded)
