Does my coworker like me back?

Does he like me but is shy?

I have the feeling this guy might like me back. It is obvious he knows SOMETHING is going on with me (possibly knows that I like him). I saw him today, and did the whole "make eye contact, look down and smile" trick, and he noticed. He needlessly passed the cash register I was at when I was talking to another cashier. Right when he walked past my register and was close to me, he was facing to his right looking the other way. What does this show?

Well if your secure about yourself enough to tell him your g*y and ask him what he thinks about it? Without stating the fact your interested in him then just let nature take it's course.  After he's aware of your sexual preference wait for him to approach you and don't try to push yourself on him and see what happens? If he has feelings toward you he will let it be known but is he's not he may just back way from you. But if he does let it go!

There is no way a bunch of us strangers online can possibly know what's in your coworker's mind -- what he thinks, what his impulses are, etc etc etc.

Maybe if we had, say, some surveillance footage, we could issue some concrete advice or feedback, but your brief account gives utterly insufficient information to give further advice.

So I'll just go with my standard wisdom -- just communicate with him directly.  Strike up a conversation, ask him to go to lunch, say "hello" the first time you see him during your shift.  Silent ruminations and fretting rarely yield anything -- they're simply not proactive.
