  1. dont take a chance and use dewomer.

  2. Well most puppies are born with some worms so most people just deworm them. The worms most people see are the tapeworms (the rice looking ones). the other worms are usually microscopic and have to be diagnosed on a fecal exam. Most over the counter dewormers only treat rounds and hooks, but your dog could also have whipworms, tapeworms, coccidia, or giardia. The most common sign of worms is runny stool or vomiting. I would recommend just taking your dog into the vet and have a fecal done. I mean if your dog doesnt have worms why would you want to spend money deworming it just in case and if they find worms they can give better dewormers that target any and all worms they find. Hope this helps

  3. You should worm your dog with a palatable Allwormer every 3 months anyway. Worms are spread by parasites like Fleas, which can be picked up at the local dog park, or from the garden if you have cats passing thru.

It may be that your dog has blocked Anal Ducts. These are small sebacious glands located just inside his a**s. They secrete a sort of lubrication which makes it easy for him to pass poo. When these become blocked - thru no fault of yours or his - they feel irratating.

Try a wormer first, if no improvement in 2 days take your dog to the vet or to a dog groomer who will be able to *express* the glands and give relief.

    Good luck with it

  4. I would take your pet in to see a vet- I would have them check to see if your dog has impacted or infected anal glands- or worst case an anal gland tumor

  5. Sounds like worms. Take him into the vet and have a fecal sample with you, so they can test it.  regular worms in the stomach/intestine are easily treated. It's the heart worms you have to worry about.

  6. Sounds like an anal gland issue.  Your dog won't get worms from eating people food they get them from eating other small animals, fleas (tapeworms) or from smelling/l*****g other dog's stools that have roundworms.  Take him to the vet and have his anal glands checked.

  7. Has he pooped since you fed him the dog treats? He might not have gotten it all out when he vomited, so he could be passing it now and it's irritating him. But the itchy butt does sound like worms. Get him checked out by a vet if it continues.
