Does my duckling need a petsitter?

He is 2 weeks old and seems heavily imprinted on me. He will cry non-stop if I leave him alone, even for 30 seconds. He sleeps with me, goes to school with me, etc. But I have to go to work tonight and he isn't allowed (Health code violations) and he is so used to humans I'm worried about leaving him alone for 3 hours (My mom would come home an take care of him after that) I've asked my friends and neighbors but, no one can or they aren't home. Should I call a petsitter service, or do you think he will be alright? He has NEVER been left alone before.

  1. he should be ok after a little bit but he might get into things its happened to me before

  2. Get a large box with a grate of some kind for a lid. Put food and water at one end and hang a light about 18 inches up on the other end because he still needs heat. The box will be a mess when you get back, you will have to figure out what works for you by trial and error, but he will be fine there.

  3. No! Put him in a bucket of water with all of his other ducky bros.

  4. He won't die of lonliness in a few hours.  Imprinted or not,he needs to learn about rules and restrictions.

I find it difficult to believe he goes to school with you.

    Are you a troll?
