Does my dvr have an ip address?

Question

it from time warner and i live in queens ...i think it's one of the latest from scientific atlanta.....the reason i am asking this question is because i would like to set recordings from my iphone

IP address, probably not...  To my knowledge, Time warner does not use IP for transport.

It should if its connected to the internet. If it does you might be able to go to your menu and search through it and it may be possible that it will show the IP address. Or possibly call your DVR service provider and ask them. Good luck.

Mine doesn't have any options like that. I have a Motorolla DVR through Charter Communications. Call up Time Warner or look through the manual if you got one for your DVR and you will get an answer.

yes your dvr has an ip address but not for the internet its only for on demand ppv services, to my knowledge you cannot set recordings remotely via internet but on a tivo it is possible because a tivo hooks up to the internet

It will have an ip address if it's going through your router to the internet that will be something like this 192.168.0.*

but the IP address that people can see on the internet is the one associated with your internet connection.

your ip address is controlled by your internet provider. if your dvr is hooked up to the internet, then yes, it has an ip address.
