Okay, this is my 22y/o grey Arabian. I got him 4y/ago? I think so lol. He is really my mom's horse and a GREAT trail/dressage/beginner horse :) He is 15.0hh Oh, and his name is Maroq (NOT PRONOUNCED Ma-ROCK lol...the "O" sounds like an "O' not an "aaa" xD)

Anyways here are the pictures...

  1. Arabs live in to their mid 30's while still riding everyday. He looks in good body shape, not falling away anywhere. Make sure the vet sees him for any problems right away and check his eyes, teeth, and blood work at least yearly.

Nice bloodlines by the way, my granfather brought Arabs to Michigan in the 1930's.

  2. His body condition looks really good...you're doing a good job with him.  Feeding an older horse isn't easy.  Takes just the right amount of feed and supplements to maintain a healthy body weight...also, good worming practices and timely floating of their teeth.  Two thumbs up to you!!!

  3. He looks excellent!

You can see that he still has muscle, which is rare on horses over 20. You have also kept his weight on, which gets harder to do when horses get older. He appears content, which is always extra points.

Out of 10 for horses over 20 I would give him a 9!

Keep up the good work and he should live for at least another 10 years!

  4. He looks good for his age:)!

  5. HEY! Another arabian girl! ok, in my opinion, and you probably know. He isn't like Huckle Berry Bey. But for 22 he looks pretty good. No swayback, he does need to be body clipped though.

  6. aww yes hes a cutie! :]

  7. If he is that old I will take my hat off to you for he looks like he could be 6-7 years old! He is a beautiful Arabian, nice flanks, hooves, markings, and a very good pedigree! All together A+ horse!

  8. He looks pretty good for a 22 year old. He's a little pudgy, but not much. I do want to say that in the first picture his halter is way too big. It looks like a quarter horse halter. There is way to much room underneath and the nose band is 5 or 6 inches too far down his nose. It'll be uncomfortable for him and not give you proper leverage. They sell halters specifically for arabian. If your interested I'll put some links to my Uncle's 21 year old stallion Aladdin Cass. He's excited about his new mare except in the rearing photo. In that one it's part of his liberty routine. He's the grandson of the black stallion from the movie, Cass Ole.

  9. he looks great!

    i love arabians.

    he has the  cutest face

  10. He looks really great, and I'm surprised he isn't more swaybacked. Both our horses have cushings too, trust me, I bet Red has more fur than him :P

  11. He looks pretty doog he does not look that old

  12. He looks great! Your doing a super job of caring for him.

    God bless the old horses!
