Does my kitten have an agression problem? Will rate best answer!?

I have 2 X two month old kitten's, and the one is pedigree. She is a beautiful cat, black and silver with stripes. I dont know what type of cat she is, as my brother lost her papers.

Im not sure if she has an agression problem but would like everyone's opinion and guidance on this:

One minute she will be fine, i'll be able to stroke and pet her, and she purrs like a mad thing and acts all cute. The next minute, she will bite and claw my hand and arm, (not just me, anyone that does this to her) and she will bite so hard that it actually draws blood. I dont smack her, i never have. When she does bites and claws, i say in a stern voice "No biting" and give her a light tap on the bum or paw.

But it doesnt seem to be helping. She bites hard, and sometimes claws so hard that her claws actually get stuck in the skin. Other than that, she is fine. She follows me around, she's playfull she purrs, and has a healthy appetite. Before i got her (from her previous owners) They had a little girl of the age of 2 years old. And apparently she used to carry the kitten around by the head ect. (although we cant really blame a 2 year old little girl for doing this as she never knew any better) Could this have played a role in her behavior?

The other kitten on the other hand will never bite, and if she does, its only when I play with her. And she does not bite nearly as hard as what the other one does.

What could be causing her to act like this? And what can i do to prevent it or stop it from happening? She does this without warning, and its unpredictable. All comments and suggestions are welcomed.

  1. WELL YOUR CAT IS CALLED A TABBY COLORED CAT! LOL. WHEN SHE PURRS ITS A SIGN THAT SHE'S VERY HAPPY AND LOVING! SOMETIMES WHEN YOU PET YOUR CAT SHE WILL BITE THE SIDE OF YOUR PAM OF YOUR HAND! WHEN MY CAT BITE MY PAM ITS WHEN HE CLEANING HIS SELF AND SOMETIMES WHEN HE MASSAGES ME AND MY HAND GETS IN THE WAYS HE BITES ME[NOT TOO HARD]. CATS MOODS CHANGES ALOT! THEY ARE MOST KIND AT NIGHT AND MORNING THEY ARE BITCHEY LOL! MAYBE WHEN YOUR CAT IS IN ANGRY MOOD SHE WOULD AGGRESSIVELY BITE YOU SERIOUSLY.MOSTLY WHEN YOU RUB THEIR BELLIES THEY FEEL DEFENSELESS AND AGGRESIVELY HOLD YOUR WRIST AND AGGRESIVELY BITES YOU AND SCRATCH YOU UP WITH ITS BACK LEGS SO I REALLY THINK YOU SHOULDN'T TOUCH THEIR BELLIES.

  2. yea.. to me it sounds like your cat is having somewhat of a psych. episode or whatever you wanna call it... and i seriously think that it's coming from when the cat used to be with the little girl. i'm not quite sure, but that's what it sounds like. for prevention, i would suggest being a little more sterner in your punishment for the cat. i know it sounds mean or wrong or hurtful to the cat, but a spanking every now and again when it gets outta hand will, in the long run, help the cat learn what's right and wrong.

hope i was able to help. n_n

  3. SEEMS TO BE HER WAY OF PLAYING, KEEP A WATER BOTTLE HANDY AND WHEN SHE BITES OR SCRATCHES SQIRT HER JUST A BIT AND SAY "NO" IN A FIRM VOICE, IT WILL TAKE TIME BUT SHE SHOULD STOP

  4. it could be a behavior problem but i doubt it.  some breeds of cat are nippy and demanding.  every breed is different.  I would keep a spay bottle near and be stern but remember when you hit a cat it is like 10 x the force on them so be really careful with even tapping them they get real attitude and will become aggressive.  We have a mane coon and they are really demanding, when you pet them for a while and stop before they are ready they will bite your hand to get you to go back to petting them, they will also bite when they don't want petted so they are real bossy.  but they are so pretty and love-able you learn to let them boss you around.

  5. Nope. She is teething. Young kitten's (and my puppy's) teeth get very itchy from time to time and cause them to need to teethe. It is natural. Try to get her something to chew on so she doesn't do it on your hand.
