Question:

Does my lifting routine suck?

I have been searching around on the internet and people seem to do 1 muscle per day with maybe some abs and i'm not really getting great results with what im doing. I came into lifting kind of uninformed and nobody has been there to teach me or show me some things. Im 5'9 3/4's 157 pounds and im 17 years of age here is my workout, it seems like maybe im not giving myself enough rest?

monday - biceps / back (abs)

tuesday - chest / shoulders

wednesday - legs / triceps (abs)

thursday - biceps / back (abs)

friday - chest / shoulders

saturday - triceps / legs

sunday - rest

Should i be doing something more like this?

monday - biceps ( abs )

tuesday - chest

wednesday - shoulders

thursday - legs

friday - triceps

saturday - rest???

sunday - rest for sure

with that i usually run a mile 4 nights week or so. give me some help id really appreciate it. thanks!

P.S. my diet is pretty good. i dont eat sweets i stick to eggs chicken fish nuts and some fruits and vegetables.

  1. Bud why not do all your muscle groups every day and mix some cardio in.You also haven't included your amount of reps ,sets or weights. Hopefully you are doing 10 to 12 reps and doing three sets and increasing the weights by 5 pounds for each set. If you can use an elliptical machine for atleast 30 mins after your weights. Do it this way and you'll notice results in a few weeks.
