Does my mac have spyware on it?

I went on redutube.com and i was just wondering if i have any spyware/viruses from that site. But my mac seems to function normally and I can't even tell I went to that site. I will never go there again. It is like a youtube but a p**n youtube. I reset my safari often and it has not asked me for my password to install anything but I am kind of scared if i compromised any info. Are there some good free spyware programs that won't mess up my mac? There is nothing wrong with it I just need to be reassured that no one is watching my login to steal my password. I use my mac for like online stuff- banking and buying. Is it still safe to just it for that?

  1. listen to the sheep all you want. macs do have virus out there. infact, the mac was the first computer to go down in a hacking contest via a flash vulnerability.

the probability you'll get one is low though since macs are still not profitable enough to hack.

  2. Anytime you go to a p**n site, you are at risk of getting infected with a virus. No matter if you have a Mac or Windows. This is what you get for your dirty habbit. Grow up and stop looking at p**n it is nasty and a waste of time.

I've taken several classes in college for computer and the question about Macs getting infected came up, the answer was they can. It's just a little rarer because no many people use Macs, so the hackers go after the larger picture being windows. But macs can get infected.

  3. You dont need spyware, macs are immune to ANY type of virus. Enjoy.

    P.S.-

I know because the guy at the apple store told me =D

  4. Relax buddy, Macs don't get Spyware. Go on redutube.com as much as you like!

Edit: Listen to the a-ss-hole below, but Macs do have viruses, but a very, very, very small amount of them and out of actually using a Mac for 10-15 years I've never had one. These PC users think they know everything about Macs. Although there are a very small number of Mac viruses that you'll probably never, ever come across; spyware is different. They get no Spyware at ALL.
