  1. It sounds like you have the dedication required to make it, so go for it!.  For you I would suggest you decide what sport you are naturally best in or like the most and concentrate on that one.  Best of luck to all of you!  ;D

  2. Training for swimming is ridiculously hard now a-days (if you want to have a chance to compete that is). I would stick with stuff you are already good at (since your goal is in only 4 years). Set your plan and goals, then work your butt off. That's what it takes in sports. The willingness to do almost NOTHING else but train at your sport  everyday for 4 years. That will be what you need to do for a shot at the Olympics.

  3. as long as you put your mind to it and work your butt off

I look forward to seeing you in 2012....from my TV of course  =)

  4. I think she has a fair chance. I'm impressed with her time already, and only that young! She should participate in the Junior Olympics.

However, she can only make the 2012 Olympics with *four years* of pure heart, determination, and hard work. As you know, the Olympics is the international sports competition of the *best of the best*; so that means that there are other aspiring girls *worldwide* to compete for the chance of a lifetime.

I will say it again: She has a fair chance of making it into the Olympics. Remember that there are other girls in the world who can run just as fast - or maybe even faster (there are some girls her age who can run 11, 12, and even 10 seconds), so she really, really needs to put as much effort and dedication for four years into realizing that dream.

I like your friend. She knows how to dream big and has the ability to make it come true.

I don't know about your other friend because you didn't give specific information about her (times, etc.).

However, I have little knowledge about shot put (I don't even know what a "pb" is, lol.), so you have to go to another person for that. Sorry.
