  1. yes

  2. Yes. The bad guys did say that. Do you think it will happen? The economy seems pretty normal to me. It was going along real well before the democrats took over congress in 2006. Do you think the democrats are helping the terrorists bring down America?

  3. It took an initial hit but rebounded very well...the current economic situation in the U.S. has nothing to do with 9/11 (other than all of the spending in Iraq), and the economy is hardly "crushed."  There are economic downturns nearly every decade and the media makes it out to be the end of the world...they overreact more each time.

  4. According to Bureau of Economic Analysis the economy has been in decline since 2000 when the stock market valuations happened thus beginning slow employment and business failures

  5. You can read most anything if you look for it.

The question is whether the source is credible.

There are financial difficulties right now. It is kind of hard to attribute those difficulties to 9/11, particularly when you consider most of the problem today has to do with a housing market correction.

  6. I don't recall if that was the exact wording, but I do recall predictions that the stock market would suffer after 9/11.

Truthfully, though, our economy is not that bad yet. I've lived through President Carter's administration, and that era was much, MUCH worse. I remember people lining up to buy fuel before it ran  out, the double digit inflation and high interest rates.

So, be of good cheer. The economy should continue to improve by the end of the year or beginning of next year. Once the stock market knows who the next president is, things should level out.

I predict that fuel prices will remain high, unfortunately, unless we start drilling our own pretty soon. Might as well adjust accordingly like Europe has. Either make more money and/or learn to economize.

    Best wishes. :o)
