Does my mother need some serious mental help?

Yesterday I woke up violently ill. My guess is a serious case of food poisoning. I couldn't eat anything, and I have a fever of 103. I think my mother got the poisoning as well, but not nearly half as bad because she just has a mild headache. She went to the store and bought me powerade because I couldn't even get off the couch. She handed it to me and told me not to spill it. I really did try my best, but being that everything around me was spinning I accidentally spilled it on her $4,000 rug. It was an accident, I swear. I didn't do it on purpose. But she started swearing and calling me a f****** idiot, and lots of other really mean things. She always does this everytime I spill something on accident. It's very hurtful, and it was just an accident! I'm not a bad kid!! Is this right to treat your daughter like this??

  1. It sounds like she has a mood disorder. Talk to her, and be very open about how it felt when she yelled at you. Make sure you talk to her once she's cooled down. Ask her to see a doctor, because they have a lot of good options for medicine for these kinds of things.  Also, she may just be very stressed out. Make sure you talk to her first! Use "I" and "me" statements. (I felt...I think...it felt like to me) good luck!

  2. If your mother was so concerned about her flooring, perhaps she should have given you the drink somewhere else.

As for you, in the future, stay in bed when sick.  That way, if anything spills, it'll be up to you to worry about it.

  3. yea your mom needs help she knows that accidents happen so why is she tripping like this

  4. There's two sides to this story:

No it is not right for a mother to do such things under any circumstances. Accidents happen and we must be patient and not lose our nerve. A mother is to portray love and affection. Understanding and endearment.

Here's the other side of the story which involves you: If you have alot of "accidents" then I really think you should also take some responsibility in your actions and be careful in such instances.... To spill all the time portrays clumsiness and carelessness.. if you truly cannot hold an object properly then you should say so and have others help you before accidents happen all the time.

    All the best.

  5. No its not. she is probably lashing out at the incident and not so much you, I really don't know your situation how does she treat you any other time like when your not making mistakes? I'm not excusing it by no means, I just don't know your situation that well.

  6. no she just values her possesions she is in the wrong though. but she needs to consider having such an expensive rug out all the time if she doesnt want any accidents. dont worry

  7. talk  your  mom

  8. Poor you! It's so upsetting when our parents are mean to us, especially when sick. I'm sorry she yelled and cursed at you. to me, that's unacceptable. no parent should curse at their child but i'm sure she was just upset about the rug b/c they can be expensive to clean.

It doesn't sounl like she's MENTAL. Unless, she does this stuff all the time.

  9. yeah your mom needs help
