    This causes a lot of extra paper work when resident outside the UK.

  3. of course it does,it is a matter of security, if you were to loose your passport, they would certainly not reproduce a passport with the same number,

    it would create many problems, for you and the country that gave you a passport,

  6. Yes it does, be careful, sometimes they make mistakes, my mum had her place of birth changed, she cannot put it right now, incredible ! I am so worried about my passport running out ! Better be abroad when it does, otherwise they might loose it in the post and you would be stuck in UK forever !

  7. Each renewed passport gets a unique number. No two passports can have the same number. You will get used to the new number after a while.
