Does my phone need a long distance serivce to Fax internationally?

I have a fax machine and my phone does not have a long distance service. Can I fax with a phone line that only can make local calls, I mean no long distance sevices.

I would get a separate fax machine line.  these lines are cheaper then the normal fax line.  I went through another company   I saved money on my regular land line and fax.  they have international calling rates that are really cheap.  Without a long distance line, you'd have to ask them if you can fax internationally.  If you'd like their information email me and I'll be happy to give it to you.

A FAX is no different to making a normal voice call, if you can't ring long distance or overseas at the moment you can't send a FAX either. Try calling the number you want to FAX if that doesn't work you will need to contact you phone carrier for an upgrade to your service.

most peole have seperate line for Fax Machine as they need a seperate number for their Fax Machine, call you local phone srvice and ask them buy you will need a number ofr the machine for people to fax you

dont do it because u might be charged. you should get some kind of international plan first. Also, something you might be interested in is distinctive ring. It allows you to have a seperate number for your fax line without adding an additional line. It will just ring a special way and go straight through to your fax line. Good luck.
