Question:

Does my plan make sense?

Ok. I want to go into some type of neonatal field of medicine. I'm not completely sure what right now, but I'll have time for that later. The thing is that right now I'm about to turn 17 and I'm in this Nurse Assisting lab in my school where I'll have my certificate by the time I graduate next year.

My question is- does it make sense for me to work as an NA part time during college to help pay for tuition and medical school? My NA cerfificate would expire after 2 years if I don't work and I 'd have to take the course again.

  1. so your certificate will not expire if you work?

i think it will depend on how tough your college courses are.  being pre-med will take up a lot of time and effort as you will want to excel in your courses to help bolster your med school application (and do well on your mcat's!)  However, working as a NA or volunteering in some capacity would also look good on your application.  I would think working during the summer might be the best solution if that would be enough to keep your certificate valid.  Good luck!
