  1. There is no such thing as a baby 'eating too much.'

If he's eating, it's because he's hungry; you cannot over feed a baby: he will stop eating when he's full.

Keep feeding him on demand, he's probably going through a growth-spurt! =]

When my son was that age, he ate *about* 4oz. every 2 hours! (I was breast feeding, and not sure the *exact* amount, but it was very close to 4oz. every 2 hours.) So, I can guarantee you that your baby is NOT eating too much! =]

My son ate MORE than that and he's never had a weight problem.

  2. the first thing you have to learn is that you can't go by numbers on the bottle when it comes to babies.

you go by signs:  '+' or '-', as in, "has he gained or lost weight?"

you go by the numbers out, as in, "at least six soaking wet diapers a day and maybe one or more dirty ones [although it's normal for babies not to p**p every day]?"

you go by looks - eyes bright and clear, not dull and hazy?  interested and alert, not lethargic and apathetic?  skin has the dewy appearance of a fresh-picked peach, not dry and dessicated looking, like one that's been left on the windowsill for a week?  generally content with normal episodes of frustration, not constantly crying and fussing?

if all is as it should be, who cares what the bottle says?

  3. I wouldn't worry about it.  If he's eaten too much it will come back up, then you'll know to cut back a little.

  4. No, sounds normal to me. Don't worry about if he's "eating too much", if a baby's hungry, he needs to eat!

  5. try not to give him as much. and make sure he isnt eating to fast.

  6. Babies that young can not over eat.  They tell you that they are done by either going to sleep or they stop sucking for prolong periods.  If he is alert and eating all of that, then no, you are not feeding him too much.

All in all from your limited info, he seems like a very normal baby!  Especially the part where he only gets up once during the night!!  You should be very happy!  I was up every 1 - 2 hours with mine the first week and a half!!

  7. Yes!

  8. OH NO, he's FINE! And lucky you, your son only gets up once a night ( o :
