  1. until the day you go to meps to ship out and swear in and sign the papers you can get out. DO NOT listen to them.... they will tell you hat you are already in and its too late and you can get arrested if you leave now but you can't... good luck.

  2. Maybe you should address your feelings and concerns with the station NCOIC and recruiter. It sounds a little like you may have a big case of cold feet...which is not at all uncommon. Think carefully before you decide to jump ship...how much time have you invested to get ready? Have you prepared yourself physically and mentally for boot camp? What is causing you to feel all this anxiety? You are under no obligation to the military until you sign on the dotted line (for the second time) at MEPS. However your recruiter and NCOIC won't have an easy time letting you go...they are held responsible for taking care of their poolees until they leave and through recruit training to ensure any and all questions/concerns are addressed. You won't be able to enlist into another branch for a year after you skip out, but that doesn't sound like your issue?

  3. Yep he does.

While you could just not ship out, they won't come arrest you.

But without a release from the station commander, you cannot enlist into another branch of the military.
