My tree by my porch is about four years old. It's not suppose to get very tall. But what kind of maintenance am I suppose to do to it? I saw at the store there is this wrap stuff you put around the trunks of tree am I suppose to do that? I am just getting started in landscaping so I don't know a whole lot about it.

  1. One of the reasons I use tree wrap is because the outside cat seems to like to use it as a scratching post. I also have a deer problem in the fall with the bucks rubbing their horns on the trunks.

  2. People will add wraps and and different contraptions to repel insects, and help the tree grow properly upward. I would simply reccomend pruning, unless their has been a wave of heat over 90 degrees farenheit,  then pruning inhibits the tree's dormancy from warm weather.
