Im planning to buy a red eared slider off the internet and have it shipped. Does anybody know of any place cheap online?

LLLreptile.com, great place for any reptile or amphibian lover, you should do your research first sliders are hard to care for and not commonly a popular choice, alot of times they are returned or abandoned. Sliders are also finicky eaters and need a lot of temperature control. Like goldfish the have acidic waste and you are doomed for a lot of water changes... they also get big, so do your research ... and make sure they are the right choice for you and your family. Also keep in mind turtles can carry salmonella, so keep a good supply of hand sanitizers around - especially if you have children. Make sure they wash their hands before and after handling.

LOL! The reliable places charge enough for shipping that it is not cost effective. Besides, the good places won't sell turtles under 4" because of federal regulations.

Try the listings at http://www.turtleforum.com to find a breeder, hopefully close by.

Besides- why a Red-ear? These guys get big, are aggressive, and not the best choice of pet pond turtle. Try a Painted Turtle instead! All the cuteness and similar cares, but lots smaller as an adult!
