  1. There are swimming lessons available for newborns- you will have to call your neighborhood pool.

  2. wait a little longer and do it yourself with your child.  the only way to teach a child that young is one on one.  plus it is a wonderful bonding experience.  you are their savior from the scary water.  they will need mommy or daddy when it comes to something as scary as swimming

  3. um....why would you want a 1 year old to learn how to swim?

are you going to put them in water or something?

    omg, now youre scaring me!

    and dont ask anybody else

people will just think that you are weird and stuff

dont especially try to ask a swim instructor

    theyll kick you out!

  4. lol..yes, I am a swim instructor, they have parent child classes starting at a year.

  5. they are. look into YMCA

  6. i absulutly loooooooooooovvveeeeeeeeeeeee brittany spears

what do you have to say bout that

  7. check your YMCA

  8. Your local YMCA should have a class were you get in with them of course. Give them a call!!

  9. Yes, it's called baby tot swim or something like that. Check with your local recreation department for times etc. The only thing is, is that you have to go in the pool with your kid.

  10. Although there are Mommy and Me (or Daddy) classes for that age, you need to think of it as just fun time with your child, not actual instructional time.  Studies say that children should not really be expected to actually learn to swim on their own until they are 4 years old.

  11. yes they are mommy and me courses (or daddy and me)   if you have a public pool they usually offer them or at state parks with pools

  12. Yeah, youd just have to look and see where their held.

    TO THE PERSON ABOVE ME:

They have swim classes with the parents.

  13. No, they are not, and I'll tell you why. It is dangerous to have a group of one years old that are all falling over in the water, because the lifeguard can only same so many at a time.

  14. Of course!! And even younger!! With the parents in the water of course! I think lessons start from 4 mos old!!

Check your local YMCA! Im sure you'll find some lessons there or your local Recreation centre!

It's a great experience!! I've done with both my children since they were 6 mos old and we both loved the experience! My two kids love the water!

  15. Yes they are.  They should be available from 6 months and on.  They dont do too much.  They just basically introduce them to the water so they feel safe and not scared and the parents go in with them.
