Does network update on psp carry viruses?

I desperately need help! I want to know that does the network update feature on psp carry virus. I want to upgrade it to the latest version, but i'm scared that if i upgrade using the network update feature some virus may appear and brick my psp! please, please , please help me!! I just want to know is it safe to upgrade your psp using the network update feature on psp. Someone please help me. I desperately need it!

nop of course not, and even if it does the virus will not run/work on psp.  the only thing that you need to worry about is if something goes wrong with the update that will definitely kill your psp.

No absolutely not!  The update is straight from playstation.  It does not carry viruses.  Even if your psp somehow has problems because of the update [which usually does not happen]  you can contact Playstation and they will either solve your problem or give you a new one.
