Does north europaen people make bad Goalies?

there isnt really that many good goalies in NHL of North Europaen (German, Swedish, Norwegain, Danish and Finnish) ancestry. why is that? also... alot of the best North Europaen goalies is actually not North Europaen but imigrants from other countrys.

ofcause there is some great north europaen goalies but you would believe that there would be more with the popularity of hockey in Sweden and Finland.

And isnt it strange if north europaen people make great hockey players except when it comes to goalies?

and dont say that race dosnt matter in sport... it obviously do... Hockey and Basketball is the proof.

Based on p[opulation demographics, the percentage of starting goaltenders in the NHL of Swedish and Finnish orogin is MUCH higher than it should be.

Based on Population Demographis, and using Canada as a base (33 million people according top StatsCan) there should only be fewer goaltenders from Northern Europe than there are.

Also, the southern part of Germany (Bavaria) is the more densely populated part of the country and is farther south than the southernmost points of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.  Furthermore, the Easternmost point of Finland is far more east than the Easternmost point of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Also, based on revent years of Vezina voting, the goaltenders from the Scandinavian have been getting more than their share of votes.

I guess that it has got something to do with what's popular here. Race has got nothing to do with sports. I mean what kind of sport you are able to play, but culture does.

I'm not going to bother with this, except to say that race indeed does not matter. A lot of why you get certain people of different races playing a sport has to do with demographics- a poorer inner city neighborhood- mostly black- basketball will be more popular because it's much cheaper to play. In a richer middle class area- largely white- baseball and hockey are more popular.

In the 20's, they were saying that jewish kids were racially superior to all other races in sports, especially basketball. But really, it has nothing to do with race itself, but just exposure and cost of playing and the stratification in our culture.

To say that race itself is a determining factor in sport is frankly, idiotic and ignores the real issues.

Oh- and another thing- Hockey is the most ethnically diverse sport. It isn't very obvious because most are white ethnicities because it originates in the north, where there's no great need for melanin (the chemical that dyes skin- what causes a tan. It works as a natural sunblock.)

Race doesn't matter in sports. And by saying basketball is the proof then I'm guessing you're trying to say they're all black. That's why Steve Nash was mvp twice in a row just 2 years back and right after him was dirk novitzki. You can be any race to be good at any sports.

Not for nothing but in my opinion Finnish players are MADE to be fast snipers.lol I've never seen a finish person NOT do that!

Sweden's also tend to prefer to become skaters,big ones too.

I'm sure too that most people in this world would rather be a forward or a defencemen instead of a goalie. :(
