  1. I used to always think that I had to be sore after a workout, but my friend says that the soreness is just from not stretching properly. To prevent soreness, you have to stretch before and after working out. The soreness is due to a buildup in acid in the muscles, so I guess stretching helps to keep it from building up too much in one area.

However, once you've been working out, it might be time to increase the intensity of the workout so that you keep pushing yourself and get better results.

  2. It depends on what ur trying to accomplish, if you are trying to like get bulky then I would say it was not effective, if you were just trying to work your heart and burn calories then you were fine. But soreness just represents a part of your body working out that hasnt been for a while.
