Question:

Does not believing in Jesus make you evil, by definition?

I can't imagine God would send anyone to h**l if they weren't truly evil.

Now look at any family members or friends you may have that aren't believers.

Are they evil?

  1. No just makes you lost.

  2. No.

But to quote Forrest Gump - Evil is as evil does.

    God love you!

  3. if you believe in Jesus it means you have a chance but it is only after you give your life to Christ will you have and ever lasting life. and as for your friends and relatives, they have to make their own choice.

  4. Of course. If you don't believe in Jesus, you are an evil sinner. Only good Christians, like Adolf Hitler, get to go to Heaven.

  5. No.  Belief or disbelief does not make one evil.  It is our attitudes and actions that can be evil.  Many people who claim Jesus as Lord have committed evil acts.

  6. That would depend on what you are using to define evil

  7. As one poster put it, it depends on how you define evil.  In Christianity, the act of foresaking Christ is the result of evil. Thus, if a person does not believe in Christ, he is doomed to h**l, but if we use that term in a broader context, then no--people are not evil if they are acting according to their society's moral code and ethics.  .

Evil is a tricky thing because it is indeed defined by a culture, and in western societies in which individualism is more prevalent, an individual defines for himself what is evil or not.  I myself am not a Christian.  Yet, I am law abiding, loving, understanding and have great empathy for people--very much the traits of Christ, but without the belief.

  8. No, being human makes you a sinner, and being a sinner means you need forgiveness.

But no one deserves (or is going to) h**l.

  9. Why would it make you evil? Some think Jesus is a myth.

  10. no, because the only evil lies in men. People can quote the bible to you all they want, but even they don't know anything about it. God exists, but not in the typical western religion sense... Think of God more as the universe, than as some being that will condemn you.

  11. No they are not evil.  Evil comes from worshipping and having faith in Satan and devils.  If you don't believe in Jesus then you need to *broaden your horizon*.

  12. No.

  13. By Jesus's definition yes

By the worldly mankinds definition NO

Remember Jesus was at war with the world concepts of good and evil and starting a new religion to correct that, by divine attributes he said he had the authority.

    Jesus own words.

Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. 2For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. 3Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. 4I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. 5And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.

    Jesus Prays for His Disciples

6"I have revealed you[a] to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. 7Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. 8For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me. 9I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. 10All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them. 11I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name—the name you gave me—so that they may be one as we are one. 12While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled. 13"I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them. 14I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. 15My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. 17Sanctify[b] them by the truth; your word is truth. 18As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. 19For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.

    Jesus Prays for All Believers

20"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: 23I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. 24"Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. 25"Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me.

  14. "For all have fallen short of the glory of God."

I believe that sums it up.

It is human nature to do evil.  It is that evil, known as sin, that keeps us from God.  It is that sin that is our downfall, our dark spiral downward into h**l.

However.  If one accepts Christ's gift of salvation, his "ultimatum", so to speak, one can change the status quo of their life and become a new creation... by that I mean they can change and have all their sin removed, if they are truly sincere in their hearts about asking forgiveness.

Otherwise, our blood is on our own heads; in a way, we send ourselves to h**l by not changing that which ails us: sin.

  15. Conversely, does belief in Jesus alone make you good?

"You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that-and shudder."

    James 2:19

  16. well as long as they not doing evil things...they r not.....and maybe someday they will find faith who knows it will have to come from them...deep down inside of them and you .on your own...i beleave good luck..rake care

  17. "believing in Jesus" is an elusive concept. I am an atheist, but I believe Jesus existed and was a highly enlightened being.

I don't think that is what you mean, though. Of course, I'm biased, but I consider myself far from evil and I don't "believe in Jesus" in the sense that christians do.

  18. no...im not evil

because i dont believe in jesus doesnt mean i go wreak havoc or anything im compassionate and kind...i just dont believe in jesus but i believe in a god i just dont think that there is such thing as the son of god its bullshit to me

  19. it makes you a liar and an antichrist

1Jo 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

    --------------------------------------...

1Jo 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that [spirit] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

    --------------------------------------...

2Jo 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

  20. If not believing in Jesus makes you evil, then that would undercut one of the most powerful arguments for the existence of God, as well as the teachings of the majority of Christian theologians down through the centuries.

  21. no

  22. We have all broke His Holy Law and He will one day punish us in h**l.

We have all probably lied, stole, used His name in vain, dishonored our parents, never kept God first, etc.

We will all have to face His courtroom.

But He sent Jesus Christ to pay the fine for our sins and breaking of the Law. Just like if you were in a court room. He paid our fine and we are to go. But there are some things we must do: Repent (Turn away) of those sins and never turn back to them, and Trust that Jesus did what He did and have a relationship with Him. That is all.

    Revelation 21:8

But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

    Matthew 5:22

But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother[will be liable to judgment; whoever insultshis brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the h**l of fire.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

    Hebrews 11:6

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

    Acts 2:38

And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 3:19 (Show me Acts 3)

Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out

    Acts 8:22

Repent, therefore, of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that, if possible, the intent of your heart may be forgiven you.

    Acts 17:30

The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent,

    Acts 11:18

When they heard these things they fell silent. And they glorified God, saying, “Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance that leads to life.”

  23. Your suffering from a Monothematic Delusion

  24. No...absolutely not....

    Who've you been talking to?

    *strokes pencil thin mustache*

  25. No, but not believing in Jesus does make you a smarter person.
