  1. Yes, definitely! My doctor told me never to do that but it also creates hot spots in the milk which could burn babies mouth. I just use warm water out of the sink or you could purchase a bottle warmer.

  2. in the formula yes when heatin in a microwave

  3. yes its possible but the main reason not to do so is because it can create hot spots and be potentially harmful to your baby

  4. In breast milk it does , formula is does not

  5. my friend and i have always used the microwave--(we are both RNs); i NEVER heat her  milk in the bottle, and as she always drinks lukewarm milk, i don't put it in but a few secs to knock the chill off..but u could do the same thing even if you want it warm...then whatever i have heated it in(usually glass or microwave safe bowl if handy and hurried, LOL) i stir it in to make sure that temp is even before i put it in the bottle....my friend gives hers warm so she then tests it on her arm.....easy, and doesn't  hurt a thing.

i don't know if this is true or not, but i have read that it can damage breastmilk, although i would be a little skeptical before i accepted it as fact...........

  6. Yes, in breast milk it does. You also want to avoid it because it can create hot spots in the bottle that can burn the baby. The best way to heat breast milk or formula is to place it in a cup of warm water for about a minute. Test the temperature on your wrist to make sure it's room temperature.

Don't heat it in the microwave, it kills all those great nutrients your body worked to create :o)

  7. You do not need to heat baby bottles.  No one knows where this myth came from but it is likely from the idea that mothers milk is warm because it comes straight from her breast.  All 5 of my kids have had formula made with room temperature water with no problems.  The only exception would be in very small babies with temperature control problems.  You don't want to introduce anything colder then they are into their little tummies because you take away heat they are already lacking for themselves.

  8. No, but you can get hot spots in the bottle so you have to shake it really good, and if you are going to microwave you should use glass bottles because plastic bottles crack to easy when heated and then cooled

  9. It is my belief that many nutrients are destroyed by microwave heating.  It is a different heat than the stove.  I think different vitamins react differently to microwaves.
