He still uses index cards.

Obama relies heavily on the teleprompter and flubs when he speaks extemporaneously.  McCain also uses a teleprompter, but not as much, as he is a skilled speaker with or without notes.

A teleprompter is just another tool, it's a way of reading your speech or getting your talking points without looking down a piece of paper, it allows you to look directly at your audience, or at least appear to be looking at them while speaking.  Doesn't matter to me what tools they use in delivering a speech, whether it be with the teleprompter, cue cards, index cards, a piece of paper, or if they write it on their hand.  Fumbling a speech isn't necessarily an indication that one is a bad speaker, it can also indicate that someone didn't really prepare themselves very well ahead of time, didn't have their thoughts organized prior to speaking.

Obama is all fumbles without his teleprompter crutch.  It's hard to keep your facts straight when you're deceptive.

Wonder how he's gonna lug that thing along when he goes to visit the Iranian president ?

Now, if you gave as many speeches as Obama/McCain did what would you do?  Of course they read from teleprompters.
