Does one have 30 days to backout of a contract with Directv?

I just got Directv. I order two hd dvr's with an outside hd antenna inlet, so I can hook up my hd outside antenna to get local channels. Directv didn't give me what I order. Directv gave me two hd dvr's without the inlet for the hd outside antenna. When I called Directv, they said you get whatever the tech person has, theres nothing we (Directv) can do about it. I either want out of contract and get my money back, or get two hd dvr's with hd outside antenna inlet. P.S. Directv didn't say anything about signing a 2 year contract while on phone taking my order. Directv only mention the contract after I called to complain.

  1. I believe it's a 3-day trial period only, then after that it's final. I'm not 100% sure though.

  2. The antenna you are referring to is an off air antenna.  This would have needed to have been ordered for you at the time that your original installation was set up (when you told them you wanted the HD DVRs).  If you told them you wanted it (You would have needed to have asked for this, it is not automatically included), talk to the customer installation support department and they will send a tech out to install it.  If it was not included in the original order, they can order it for you.  Be sure to let them know that you thought it was ordered in the original installation.  You might get HD local channels from the satellite dish itself...did you check this?  If you do, you dont even need the off air antenna because they are through the satellite.
