  1. You would only need a passport if you are flying into the US from a foreign territory.  You will need to have valid ID, such as a US driver's license and/or a birth certificate.  The requirement for carrying a passport for land crossing, such as by car or on foot, will not go into effect until 2008, if at all.

  2. Yes. Passports are now required to reenter the US, regardless of how you enter.

  3. not yet but very soon- I believe 1/1/08

  4. you don't need a passport, the only thing you'll need is a picture ID, that's it.

    Have fun!

  5. You're crossing a border.  Be it on foot, in a car, on a plane, you HAVE to have documentation and papers to get across a border.  Otherwise a TON of people would walk (a lot already do).

  6. Only to come back, Mexico doesn't care who comes to there country.

  7. See website below to read the law for yourself.  passports are not currently needed to go to Mexico by LAND.  However, as soon as Jan, 20008, you will.  It is currwntly taking about 5 months to get a passport. so it would be wise to apply, so you will be prepared whn the next phase of the law goes into effect.  See 2nd website.
