Does one need a passport to go to Puerto Rico? Or to come back into the US?

  2. No, if you are an US citizen then no, since PR is a commonwealth of United States. That's why PRicans are considered american citizens.

    If not from USA then yes, you do need one.

    Have a great trip to PR-you will love it!

    the best places to go to are San Juan, Mayaguez, Arecibo, Ponce and yauco

    Also Aguadilla and Moca. However if you want a fancier experience, San Juan is for you. It has great nightlife, cuisine and it is great!

    And in PR there are sometimes cheap little markets--like flea markets--and you can have little souveneirs and stuff.

    Great choice going to PR! it truly is La Isla del Encanto, have fun, be safe.

  5. If coming here via an international flight, yes passport needed.

    If comming via a domestic flight, no passport needed for US citizens, until Homeland Securoty changes the rules.

  7. I went to Puerto Rico on a cruise in April 2007, no passport was needed to get off the ship or board again at Puerto Rico.  Other islands such as St. Thomas you needed a passport.
