  1. there is usually a delay between the streem and live broadcast...but it shouldn't be more than about 10 minutes.

Check out the website where you are streaming.  They will typically tell you if you are getting live, time delayed, or taped broadcast.

  2. It depends.  Agreements have been made with several organizations that allow stations to stream everything that is aired, but more than likely the stations is not.  Usually commercials are the only thing that are not streamed (stream versions are overlayed when the real ads air and replaced with alternatives).  Some music is also, but it is less likely than the overlaying of commercials in the stream.

As mentioned in the previous answer, the technical restrictions will prohibit real-time listening compared to the over-the-air signal.  A delay is expected due to web buffering.

  3. Last station I streamed timed in about 4 minutes delay as people said due to web buffereing and such, but I've seen some as low as 30 seconds. (actually XM and sirius are buffered also)

But not at the same time but usually a few minutes late minus national commercials usually (for some reason they have copyright issues that won't allow them to air.. some stations blank all commericals with dead air or music , some just block certain ads and insert Public service announcements instead)
