  1. Things like OJ have a global market ..

In fact, since the Southern Hemisphere (where a lot of the oranges are grown) has it's summer during our winter, 'out of season' may well be during our summer :-)

NB> in the short term, there are no 'sure bets' on the stock markets, only 'your opinion' and 'market opinion' .. prices follow market opinion ..  if you are convinced the market has got it wrong 'today' but will get it right 'tomorrow' then you can buy (or sell) at todays prices and, if it turns out you were right, you will make money tomorrow ...

In the long term, the market will always go up .. so there's your 'sure bet' .. buy 'the market' (Index Tracker) and wait 10 years ...

  2. Hard frosts can drive up the price as supply dwindles, whereas a mild winter will have the opposite effect. Pay attention to Brazil and its weather, a stiff competitor for Florica oranges.

  3. I should think by now that would be factored into the price.

Bit like a toy shop having most sales pre Christmas.

  4. it's not out of season in the winter.

brazil and chile are big orange producers, and their summer is our winter.
