Does orphans go to a foster care???

Okay my friend told me that orphans go to a foster care, but i also heard that foster kids are the ones who have been abandoned or abused by their parents, or is it all mixed together??

orphans usually go to orphanages and abused kids can go to foster care where they are to be back with parents after they learn some stuff but not always either sometimes they adopt the kids out depends on the situation.
