Does owning a diner/cafe bring in enough profit for everything?? Or would a 2nd job need to be done??

Rarely.  You'd need a 2nd job.  But you wouldn't have time because owning a place sucks all your life and money away.  Insurance, licenses, permits, cost of food going up, power bills going up, things breaking, advertising is expensive, it's virtually impossible for a little indie mom and pop anymore.
