Does owning a new car (gift) affect the Medi-Cal eligibility?

I am a student, come from a low income family. My question is , if I own a new car which is given by my relative as a gift, will it affect my Medi-Cal eligibility?

  1. One car is exempt as an asset. So if you are applying by yourself, then no the car won't matter. If there is another adult on the application and they have a car, the one with the most value will not be counted. The one with the lesser value will be counted.
