Does paint rot?

Question

I think it's water-based, but I can't tell if there's mildew in the can or if the paint itself is actually rancid...

i wouldn't lie, but i believe it does not rot.

acrylic paints can go bad...sounds like you need to toss it out and get new...especially if it has started to grow something...i think they still use some milk by-products in them so it can get rancid...

lots of times what looks like mildew is rust but sometimes not.

just toss it and get new, you'll stink up the whole house if you use bad paint
