  1. If you want to paint the walls blue, I would recommend a light blue, dark colors tend to make rroms smaller. So go for a sky or baby blue, if you are set on painting your walls blue.

  2. What kind of room is it? There are ways to make the room appear larger than it is.

  3. agree with what the first person said....

  4. I think it makes it a bit more spacious.

  5. I dont think so....

  6. I don't know if this is true, but I've heard that if you want a room to seem bigger you need to decorate it with warm colors, like red, pink, orange, yellow, etc. If you want a room to seem smaller, you need to decorate it with cool colors like green, blue, dusty purple, etc. I hope that helps!

  7. If its a dark blue. Yes. If its a lighter blue No

  8. No. it will still have the same dimensions.

  9. It will if you paint it all one color of blue. (Darker will make it look smaller) If you want some kind of variation, try painting the bottom half a darker blue and the top half a lighter blue, maybe with a chair rail separating the two colors. It will keep the room brighter but still make it interesting..

  10. I think the key is not necessarily the color, but how it is used.  For instance, let's say you paint your room a nice medium blue color, but all of the window trim, doors, ceiling and baseboard is off white, etc.  Contrasting trim creates visual "borders" all over the room, breaking the color up into smaller spaces.

Instead, consider making all of the surfaces in the room similar colors--within one, maybe two, shades on the paint chip card.  This eliminates the visual break up of the room.  In fact, decorating experts say to use a light color on your ceiling instead of white--that actually makes the room seem taller.
