Does peachcare for kids insurance pay for braces?

Yes I have peachcare for kids insurance and my daughter thinks she needs braces, does anyone know if it will pay for braces? Thanks!

  1. According to the page 12 of Georgia's Peachcare for kids handbook, braces are covered if prescribed by a physician. The medical necessity is reviewed on a case-by case basis for members under 19 years of age.


  2. Yes they will only if the orthodontist feel as though there is a medical reason she needs them. I went to a Orthodontists in College Park, GA and he refused my kids because he said there was no medical reason why they needed braces. Example he said their teeth were not overlapping each other. I was shocked because my son had braces before and he needs them back. They will pay if there is a medical reason. Not sure where you live but this Orthodontist did take Peachcare.
