Does pesto made with nuts or have nuts in it?

  1. Pine nuts are traditional. But if you don't like them, go right ahead and leave them out! I've made pesto without pine nuts for a nut-allergic friend and we all enjoyed it. In fact I don't think anyone would have noticed the difference if I hadn't mentioned it.

  5. A lot of pestos have chopped or whole pine nuts. Some have almonds, walnuts, or pecans. I prefer pesto without, but most store boughts have some type of nuts in them.

    If you are making it home made, any type of nut will do.

  7. My favorite pesto of all time had pine nuts and sun dried tomatoes!
