  1. All night long.

  2. It does not play either of those, or pool, or poker, or an iPod, either in my heart or mind or soul. Philosophy is an intellectual activity.

  3. It does neither. Philosophy, for me, is part of who I am, an intrinsic characteristic of me, not some component. I think I understand what you are trying to say: that it's something you're passionate about. Calling it a passion for me, however noble, is an inadequate description because to remove it from me is like trying to take the wet out of mud and still call it the same. Asking me to stop being philosophical about stuff is like asking me to stop breathing: it is so much a part of who I am and how I operate that to do without is to cease any and all thought - I might as well be dead.
