Supposedly Pi is rational in Hexadecimal (base sixteen). That is, it never ends, but theres some algorithm in hexadecimal that can find any desired digit of it without having to calculate the previous ones. Don't know how that works, tho.

Pi is known to be irrational numbers (meaning it has been proven that it is an irrational number). That means that the decimal expansion never ends and has no repeating pattern. It also means that it can not be written as a fraction where both the numerator and denominator are integers.  Therefore, you can't write out in numbers the exact value of pi . There are ways to approximate it, however, to any (finite) number of decimal places you want. If you want to indicate the "exact" value you can only leave it written as π. Whenever you see it written as a decimal, you are looking at an approximation only.

I really shouldn't get sucked into this, but there are so many misconceptions already.

First, to answer the question, no.  The digits do not end (we KNOW they don't end).  In fact, they don't eventually repeat a string of digits either (like 85858585..., or 123451234512345...).  It is true that there is a "digit extracting algorithm" for pi in base 16, but that does NOT mean it's rational.

One of the particularly neat things about pi is that its digit sting is thought (we don't know for sure, but it seems this way) to be uniformly random.  That is, if we look at a whole bunch of digits, we would expect to see equal numbers of 0s, 1s, 2s, ..., and 9s.  In fact, you should be able to find any string of digits you want, like your birthday or a string of a billion zeros in a row.  You can search the first 200 million digits of pi here:

We don't know if it ends. Millions of digits have been calculated, with the record held (as of September 1999) by a supercomputer at the University of Tokyo that calculated 206,158,430,000 digits.
