I supposed even pillion riders are also having lot of things in their Heads which are also to be protected like as a main riders........ it is for your safety..... unfortunate incidents does not know who was riding the bike...it will take you both on their side...

So be SAFE... ALWAYS WEAR HELMET

If you value your life you do need one. Many places regulation is that it needs to be worn.

Yes indeed they are necessary for safty reasons. It is for our safty and no local laws are required for wearing Helmet.

Riding without a helmet is just plain stupid, you could be the best rider in the world and still have a driver too busy on a cell phone slam onto you before you know it. A $80 DOT helmet is cheap insurance against brain damage that could kill you. Even if the local laws dont require it I would say yes, pillion riders NEED a helmet.

Any idiot that rides a motorbike without a Helmut goes into the ever increasing category, called Natural Attrition.

But then again, I don't suffer from claustrophobia. I don't mind the fact my head is enclosed, cushioned and surrounded with Fibreglass.

Do not know depends on the location and the local laws.

But it is a very good Idea to use a helmet, even when you ride a bicycle. My state and many other states in USA requires it.
