  1. Yes it works - that is what a "surrogate mother" is.

In terms of genes, no there does not need to be any compatibility.

In terms of blood type, there is the Rhesus factor. If the mother is Rhesus negative, and has a Rhesus positive child, she will form antibodies against it during the pregnancy. This doesn't affect THAT child, but any subsequent Rh+ children will be attacked by the mother's immune system, unless prophylactic treatment is given.

This treatment (called "Anti D") is administered during the first pregnancy, and prevents the mother forming the antibodies - allowing all subsequent children (whether Rh+ or Rh-) to survive pregnancy.

This is an issue with ALL pregnancies, though - not just surrogates.

  2. where have you been for the last few years ?

  3. wtf is an embryo ?????????/

  4. Indeed, a secondary surrogate female can be made to carry a developing pre-embryo to full term. However, timing is important in transferring the in vitro pre-embryo into the surrogate's uterus. The surrogate's womb must be in an acceptable biological and hormonal state before the transferred pre-embryo can successfully implant in the uterine wall.

No, since the surrogate female has no direct biological nor genetic association with the developing transferred pre-embryo, it does not matter what her biochemical make up happens to be.

  5. It is absolutely possible...but such embryos have a higher chance of being rejected compared to the cells of the maternal host. This is how surrogate mothers carry others' embryos, and biomedical technologists use this fact to carry out many genetic studies (such as cloning).

  6. Yes. This practice is common and is known as surrogacy. Surrogate mothers are implanted with fertilized embryos and then carry the baby to term. After birth, the baby is returned to a set of designated parents. Women who act as surrogate mothers are often compensated monetarily for their work.

  7. hi, yes it dose work ,science prove it.

  8. That's what a surrogate mother is.

Surrogacy is a method of reproduction whereby a woman agrees to become pregnant for the purpose of giving birth to a child she will not raise but hand over to a contracted party. She may be the child's genetic mother (the more traditional form of surrogacy), or she may become pregnant after having been implanted with an embryo. In some cases surrogacy is the only available option for parents who wish to have a child that is biologically related to them.

As far as I know, I don't think they necessarily have to be the same blood type and they wont have the same genes because nobody shares the same genes, they are unique to you.

  9. It does work.  That's what surrogate mothers do.  They carry another person's baby.  I don't know the details.
