Other grass doesn't affect it. Locals say it happens to other dogs.

  1. If you open the link below you will see a list of plants that are toxic to dogs...You might be surprised at how many  common grasses and "weeds" that just might be the source of the irritation.  Click on the name and it will show you a picture.  Perhaps the nearby field should be avoided for the comfort of your friend.

  2. It could be ticks or chiggers, depending on where you live.Chiggers will look like pin prick size, slightly raised, red bumps and will most likely make your dog itch like crazy. They're really common in the midwest and southern regions. I would just avoid that field.

  3. Could be ticks in the grass..

  4. i wouldn't walk your dog on that grass any more!

  5. Yes it does as the pollutants will be on the surface of the soil aswell as in the grass leaves. If you wash your dogs paws after walking on it then hopefully it wont cause a rash. Or you could walk your dog elsewhere if possible.

  6. Some grass is acidic.  And if you walk your dog there when there is dew on the grass it can get some of the acid on your dogs paws.
