Does pop make carbon emissions?

Probably a really stupid question, but it is "carbonated", is that the same sort of carbon?

You're correct, it is CO2.  But it is taken from the air and released back to the air so overall there is no net gain or loss in the atmosphere, except for a small amount that combines with the water to form Carbonic Acid.
