  1. Absolutely. Young people emulate much of what they see in the media.

  2. Some people are directly other indirectly. No one is truly free from the opinions of the world, especially when its thrown at you from every angle. This also has a lot to do with how parents raise children. If you allow your children to be raised by the television, movies and magazines... well you'll have a lot of racist, anorexic drones (sweeping generalization). Many people are influences by rebelling against what is popular now, trying to give an illusion of non-conformity, which is ironic in so many ways. If people aren't raised with a filter to keep the trash out of their minds and to think on their own and not allow themselves to be trapped by images they see.

  3. Every single day.  All the coverage of Britney Spears.

  4. Duh!

  5. Every second of everyday: tv, newspaper, movies, ads, everything. They influence the new trends in clothing and hair style and even ways of life. It's also the other way around too: youth in today's society are affecting pop culture with what they want and what they think is cool.

  6. Yes of course, but it also the other way around as well. The youth have a huge influence on popular culture!
