Probably not. If it is a good forum the SE will index the posts, so your post will go into the SE quickly. Also you get a flurry of vistors when you first join. Otherwise I thimk the advantages are short lived

Well, I'm new to this myself.  Apparently, if you have a website, and you post your link into different forums or things like Yahoo Answers, it creates back links.  Google gives you page rank based on the popularity of your site.  The higher the better.  Google determines this by the number of sites that link to your site and vice versa. Kind of a site popularity thing.  When people use Google or Yahoo search for that matter, they are more likely to find your site in the search engine if your page rank is high.  There is a ton of information out there.  Do a search on SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and you'll see what I'm talking about.  If you own a business, you have to have a website these days..
