I was having a couple friends over the other night and one smoked pot in front of everyone. I DID NOT smoke any of it. She was across the table and I couldn't even smell it. We were outside and spread across the table. Can it still show up? Please help me, I have to do a hair folicle test for a new, very important job. Thanks so much!!!

  1. yes and no.yes, over time with exposure, but I doubt any got in your blood stream, You should be safe, plus with the growth rate of hair 1/4 inch a month. The rest of your hair would say no, so if you have partaken in smoking pot during any of your hair growth currently on your head it will show positive for use.

  2. No....BUT...it will show any drugs you have done in the last couple months...If you don't use drugs...you're fine.

  3. No, I doubt it very much and even if it did, you just tell the truth.  Don't hang around with 'friends' like this.  This 'friend 'clearly did not think much of you or have sufficient respect for you to consider the difficult position she was putting you in.  Stand up for yourself - you say the friends were over at yours - learn to say 'please don't do that here....' people will respect you for it or leave - in which case, no loss.

Good luck with the job interview.

  4. No it shouldn't you have to actually inhale for it to show on a test if your around it especially in an open area i.e. not in a car...the worst that could happen is you smell like it.

  5. Q. Can secondhand marijuana smoke or poppy seeds cause a positive test?

    A. Laboratories utilize conservative cutoff levels when conducting drug tests. Under normal circumstances, a person would not consume enough marijuana from secondhand smoke or eat enough poppy seeds to to reach these cutoff levels to trigger a positive drug test.
