  1. God always answers your prayers.

although it may not be the answer you were looking for he does.

and sometimes he just makes you wait.

Well recently on of the members from my church was found to have breast cancer. The doctors found a tumor after she miscarriaged. When the church found out everyone got into prayer. about a few months of praying for she came back to church crying and gave her testimony that she went to the doctor that week and the doctors could not find any more tumors OR cancerous cells.

so far shes as healthy as ever.

thats the power of prayer and God.

  2. I prayed... then nothing happened.

It works if you don't want to do anything.

  3. I read somewhere (in the newspaper I think, but can't remember) that it has been proved that praying will not increase your chances of surviving a heart transplant.

  4. When I was 12(and still a Christian) I prayed to God for my b***s to get bigger. And whadya know, my prayer came true!

I'm still an atheist though. haha

  5. Personally, yes, for others i've seen, yes.

My friend has had a very bad back for some time, and she was prayed for, and was relieved from her pain. That's my example.

fyi, no, she didn't take and drugs, and it was instantaneous, not delayed like waiting for something to happen

  6. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. -James 5:16

  7. It depends on what you think prayer is, and what you use it for, and how it is done.

    And who it is from.

I prayed for a cult to be destroyed.

Within a month, all the members were gone, moved on, leaving behind a trail of broken hearts and dreams.

Another time, I prayed that someone close to me would really get hurt.  Next time I saw him, he was hobbling around on crutches.

You will notice that I only have strong prayers when I am angry.  I no longer direct such prayers against people.  (There was another one as well, but I am too ashamed to tell it.)

I am always reluctant to share these stories with others, since most of my prayers are intensely negative in their nature, and not something I like to brag about.

Seriously, sometimes I think I can breathe fire.  I have to be careful.

ah, Jazz man.  She caught you fair and square.  You can get off on a musician's excuse.  It's nearly the same as an artist's excuse.

  8. Prayer works for -you-.  I don't think God obeys our commands, gives us stuff we wish for, etc.  Christians/Jews/Muslims all believe that God has a plan and that he sticks to it.  We don't influence this plan and we wouldn't want to.

But prayer helps people feel better.  It focusses your mind, helps you to think about things more closely, it puts things in a different light.  That's why they do it.

For instance, if you have trouble getting to sleep, a Christian friend of mine suggested you think about the things that are good in your life, thank God for them one by one.  The feeling of gratitude is very relaxing and helps you get to sleep!

  9. If it "works", it's coincidence.

If it doesn't work, the preacher will blame you for not having enough faith.

Ain't that a kick in the head !!!

  10. Well I don't believe in all these superstitious stuffs...

but hey... at least it's better than not doing anything...

One time... I actually tried to do a love spell on my crush...

    nothing happened.

    He was straight.

  11. I prayed for god to help me with my GCSE's and i passed

I also prayed for Work exp and got a placement at the Imperial War Museum, probably was the only in that museum doing work experience

  12. Yes, it's 100% real and I have no doubt about it anymore..

  13. I think you mean, "Does anyone have any real life examples that show prayer works?"

    This is a third offense!
