  1. No, pride is actually the one thing that most of the sheep in society don't want us to have.  Our employers and our government would rather we had no pride.  There is a way to have an equal level of humbleness and self-pride and not appear to be cocky or separational.

  2. Pride can kill.

If you look at research, the majority of criminals have a high self-esteem contrary to many people beliefs.

Their self-esteem seem to be ridiculously high. Too much self-esteem to me defines pride. These self-esteem loaded people, feel as though they are better than others.

Common school bullies are children with high self-esteem where there should've been none given to them. At home mom tells them "Oh, you were so great at the marathon today! Look at your trophy" while the child came in at last place not even trying. Then goes up to a child and steals their crayons, because "My mom said I deserve the best"

[Not to offend anybody] But I realize everyone wants their children not to feel bad about not being the best, but children forget that they lose and move on. There is no need to feed them bs. Greatest example, American Idol. All those disillusioned crappy singers, think they are the bomb! But seem completely appalled when the judges say that their voices are terrible. "But my mom said I'm good..."

Those who steal from others pretty much think that they are better than you. They do not have slave day after day at a job earning that money. They are better than you. They should have what you have. Criminals think that. They think they are so intelligent that they can get away with anything. Even murder.

I feel that it is so much worse than jealousy. Most people just envy and look from afar what they wished they had. Most wouldn't have the courage to kill someone to make themselves end their jealous ways.

  3. no, pride doesnt kill. it may lead to  problems like social isolation, enemity, self-obsession, stagnation & regression in life. i would say, it is still better than jealousy though its very subjective. yes, its ruling the world right now be it sports, movies, politics, art, etc.
