  1. I never used it, but my mother used it for 2 1/2 years with no results at all...=/

  2. in the beginning, it seemed like it was helping then bam! it just stopped working...didn't help at all.

  3. my friend, a pediatrician, had 4 kids with acne off and on - it worked for 3 of them, but one had to give up and go to a dermatologist.  my own son used it and it worked for him too, but he had to give it up because something in it was too harsh for his skin.  they honored the money back guarantee though.  he eventually also went to a dermatologist and is doing fairly well now.

So that's success 3 out of 5 times in this extremely small study...

  4. idk but so far nothing i have been using it for 4 days and acne just seems to get worse

  5. yes because I used to have really damaged skin and if you follow the steps properly, and use it daily, you will get results. My face has never felt better, and it raises self-esteem because you feel and look great. Some people says it doesnt work but i have used it for a very long time. You should try it for yourself and have dramatically better looking skin! :)

  6. proactive dosnt work for me.

  7. I'm thirty-seven.  So, I'm going to give you some information that most adults do not make young people aware of.

Companies take advantage of teenage acne insecurities.  None of the

c**p works.  Just use gentle soap and wash your face each day.  There's nothing else you can do unless you have true clinical problems with acne.  I'm talking HUGE ZITS!  I mean, really bad!  Most do not have real PITS AND HOLES acne.  But, they want to look like those people on television.  However, what they don't realize is that the people they are trying to look like are past their ACNE stage and past puberty most of the time.

Because of increased hormonal activity while you are young,  your pituitary glands go wild, and you have increased oils and sweat, because you are burning higher calories.  Most mild acne in the teenage years is caused due to this fact.  I had horrible pimples in 8th grade through 10th grade.  My Junior year of high school, all my acne went away, and by Senior year I was the man on campus.  ZIT FREE by 18.

With that said, do not fall for the advertisements.  They are totally manipulating the youth of the world into thinking their acne is abnormal.  Actually, it's normal.  Love your acne.  It's a sign you are young! :)  In fact, do this test.  Go to Google and time in this question: what causes acne?  You'll come up with a proactiv ad.  Hope that helps.  Left you some information, too, on the real reasons teenagers have acne.  Some worse than others, because of higher levels of testosterone than normal.

p.s. Oh, one more thing!  Chocolate does not cause pimples in teenagers!  BIG MYTH!

  8. Yes it worked for me. But it is really expensive :( that's the only reason i stopped using it.

  9. My nephew got it to try and he loves it, he is 31 and his skin is almost completely smooth now, and he uses it faithfully.  It's worked better than anything he's tried before.

  10. am a Registered Nurse and I specialize in skin care and teen acne.

It has not worked well for most of my patients, often it dries out the skin too much.

Your question is very broad and you need to get professional advice. I will explain why it's a broad question!

Your age plays a role! How old are you? Do you always have breakouts?

However, acne can result from several factors such an increase in hormone levels. In males testosterone or androgens. In females, androgens respectively. The increase in androgen levels can stimulate the oil glands to become enlarged and thus more oil production is produced. An increased oil production can clog the pores with oil or sebum ( white thick substance) which cause the cell walls of the pores in the skin to breakdown. This process allows bacteria to form and thus breakouts develop.

Genetics may also be a cause. It is a myth that greasy food or chocolate causes breakouts.

However, using make-up sponges that are not changed or washed often can contaminate the pores with bacteria which may develop into acneic breakouts.

If you are a teenager ( which I assume that you are) your hormones play a definite role in your breakouts.

If you have severe breakouts than you might need medication. There are many factors.

The most important thing is that you need products that are AGE APPROPRIATE! Every age group has different products appropriate for them. If you are young than you need milder products as to not dry out your beautiful young skin.

The problem with commercial skin products is that they are manufactured for MASSES OF PEOPLE and are not specifically made for different peoples' needs.

Your skin type is different than mine and your age differs from mine so how is it logical that we both use the same skin product for breakouts. We need different strengths of cleansers and toners. Do you kind of understand what I am getting at?

Here is my STRONG SUGGESTION for you. I refer all my students and patients to this website:

    www.aboutyourskincare.com

You need to consult with professionals and on this website YOU CAN ASK QUESTIONS FOR FREE AND A SKIN EXPERT/PHYSICIAN WILL ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS. It would be a shame if you dont take advantage of this free service.

Lastly, they have incredible products for breakouts and they make them specifically for every kind of skin type. That means that if your breakouts are more severe than mine, than while we both will buy the same product yours will have stronger ingredients than mine will.

They have a mild glycolic acid cleanser that's great for your type of skin and also a DRYING LOTION ( I have 3 bottles) that you put directly on your breakouts and the next day it's gone. It's truely magic in a bottle.

A basic guideline for properly taking care of your skin is this ( now if you're a young girl you will need fewer products than this):

    Night time:

    1. Exfoliate the skin

    2. Mild Glycolic Acid Cleanser

    3. Mild Glycolic Acid Toner ( cleans off the excess debris and balances the PH level of the skin).

    4. Drying Lotion used only on breakouts

    5. Moisturizer

    Morning:

    1. Mild Glycolic Acid Cleanser

    2. Moisturizing cream

The above is a standard you may need to only use one or two products. Visit: www.aboutyourskincare.com

As I suggested and click on the ASK FOR FREE section send them an email and you will get free expert skin care advice.

    Good Luck to you,

  11. May I answer for my daughter? I bought the entire kit for my daughter and she used it for 30 days - nothing. No improvement at all.  They had a money-back guarantee but I never saw a dime.

A few weeks later a friend introduced us to the Mary Kay line of skin care and her skin began to improve in 5 days. She had cystic acne on her face, neck and back and she has been acne free for three years and the texture and appearance of her skin is absolutely beautiful.

  12. the lady in the with the Proactive cart is smokin hot!

  13. Yes, it's cleared my face up so much. You have to use it twice a day, though, or it won't have any effect on you. I noticed after I forgot to do it for a few days in a row, I began to break out. When I started using it again, they went away. It really, really helps!

    - Em

PS. The 'refining mask' works, very, very good! (It's a proactive product)

  14. it didnt work for me.  but you need to keep trying everything, so try it. and keep changing until you find your thing

  15. of course it does...jessica simpson is a spokesperson for it...if you can't trust a singer with absolutely no medical knowledge whats so ever on a dermatology product, then your being paranoid.

  16. YES!

it took a while to work, but it REALLY improved my face, i dont break out half as much as  i used to  . i had already tried, clearasil, clean and clear, acne free, st. ives, neutragena, etc, and this was the first thing that made a difference!

    i had moderate acne

  17. I used it and found it to be pretty consistent and it cleared my skin.  I didn't have the results you see on the infomercials, but it did help.  Just remember it tends to get worse for a week or so before it starts to get better.

  18. No it didn't work for me but Clearasil did! but it affects everyone differently

  19. It didn't work for me, but then again I didn't really follow through with it every night&&day lol.

I did have to stop using one of the bottles 'cause it made my face peel or something.

  20. I used it and the extra strenght stuff and they didn't work at all total waste of money and it bleaches towels.

  21. nope made my skin worse if you miss one day it makes you break out like CRAZY don't use it they put something in it so you skin constantly needs it t

  22. never tried it

never needed to, i take good enough care of myself that I dont ever break out, wish others would catch on to this

  23. no, its not strong enough for me ANYMORE. Had to get prescription instead

  24. it works but takes a while, also if you quit using it , your skin goes back to the way it was

  25. NOOOOOOOO! Do not use that c**p it just messes up your face even more. Use The Wave!

  26. It works for me but it turns my skin realllllllllllly red

  27. omg yes!! i used to have really bad skin and now its much much

better, i still do get occasional pimples but otherwise my skin is soo much better i woud definatley reccomend it.

  28. nope .. i use this benzaclin cream after cleansing my face with cetaphil cleanser .. it was noticable the next day. it dried up and got all nasty first but it was worth it cuz everything was gone in a little more than a month.

  29. Depends on you and your skin.  I've never used it but for the people I know that have, it works for some and not for others.  But if you stop using it, you will be prone to worse breakouts.

  30. It made my skin softer and nicer. I never had bad acne though. But the refining mask works great for a pimple you KNOW you are getting.

  31. no my friend had it and it said it made his skin worse
